Spirit Church is affiliated with the Assemblies of God, and we believe in the 16 Fundamental Truths, which you can find here: What We Believe
4 Truths at the Heart of Them All
1. Jesus Christ Is Our Savior
The first and most important message of the gospel is salvation through Jesus Christ.
Spirit Church teaches that humanity is separated from God because of sin, but God provided redemption through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Anyone who repents and places faith in Christ can receive forgiveness and eternal life.
We believe:
-
Jesus died for our sins.
-
Salvation is received through repentance and faith.
-
Anyone can be born again and experience new life in Christ.
Key idea:
Christ saves us from sin.
2. Jesus Christ Baptizes in the Holy Spirit
The second cardinal doctrine teaches that after salvation believers can receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit, which empowers them for Christian life and ministry.
Spirit Church believes this experience was normal in the New Testament church and is still available today. It brings spiritual power, gifts of the Spirit, and deeper dedication to God.
We believe:
-
The baptism in the Holy Spirit is promised to believers.
-
It empowers Christians for witnessing and service.
-
The initial physical evidence is speaking in other tongues.
Key idea:
Christ empowers us by His Spirit.
3. Jesus Christ Is Our Healer
The third doctrine teaches that divine healing is part of the gospel.
Spirit Church believes that Christ’s atonement provides not only forgiveness of sins but also healing for the body. Believers are encouraged to pray for the sick and trust God for healing.
We believe:
-
Healing was part of Jesus’ ministry.
-
Healing is provided in Christ’s atonement.
-
The church should pray for the sick.
Key idea:
Christ heals the body as well as the soul.
4. Jesus Christ Is the Soon-Coming King
The fourth doctrine is the Second Coming of Christ, often called the Blessed Hope.
Spirit Church teaches that Jesus will return for His church, beginning with the rapture, followed by His visible return and reign.
We believe:
-
Jesus will return suddenly and unexpectedly.
-
Believers should live ready for His coming.
-
His return motivates holy living and evangelism.
Key idea:
Christ is coming again.
